I have an 85 200x,it needs alot of work but this is my fun project trike.1 of the things it needs is fork boots,do I run the forks w out them and save the money or get new 1s?I want to clean it up and make it a rider not a concourse art piece that never gets ridden like some people do.

its really up to you,i bought some off of ebay and you can get different colors.
i had a 83 250r that i was planning on restoring,it needed one of everything,so i got some blue boots
when i took the forks off one at a time to replace the boots,i was reinstalling the front axle bolt and didnt notice but the forks were bent so when i was screwing in the axle bolt it stripped out the fork because it wasnt all lined up,because the idiot had crashed it so many times.so watch out for that.

I'd put them on there, protect the shocks.

I take them off everything I own.. It's all about personal preference..

I replaced the boots on both my 84 200x's when I rebuilt the forks. My un-scientific theory is they protect the fork tubes from the nicks and such that ruin seals. I'd do it - especially if you do any riding besides dune riding.
