My Father and I have decided to sell the 125 after some long conversations this winter. It is one of only 4 ever produced and 1 of 2 still able to be located.
I won the Yamaha East Coast Nationals in 85 and 86 and almost felt bad lining up against the Japanese built competition:crazy: before the races but I quickly got over it when they would throw the green flag.:p
We are going to put it on EBAY if it is not sold in the few weeks before it is listed.
The motor was rebuilt a few years ago and has about 20 minutes of running on it. This bike speaks for itself when you look at the pics and its still beautiful after all these years. We don't have a price in mind but will entertain all offers before it goes on EBAY
pm me on here if you have any interest or feel free to call my cell 518-788-6324

I was 12 years old racing against men on 250r's and Tecates quite a bit. With the AMA I think you had to be 14 to race with the adults so we did the old photocopy, white out, photocopy on the birth certificate and I was magically 14 years old and legal to run with the men. Running with the adults on bigger bike's twice a week really helped when we went to the bigger events and competed against kids my age with the same cc bikes.

Cool Trike...Nice piece of history. I had a customer in Clifton Park on Brooke Ave before my business went under recently.

Just reread these two 125 Cagiva posts and it IS that clean, still today.... unreal.
Just curious, what's the motivation for selling. It must of been a hard decision.
I'd bet Tricky Dick II, Andy would like to get this one back.

Bryan- I watched your youtube video and it got my blood pumping:p
Buster-All of those pictures were taken with in the last 6 weeks except the racing shot at Lebanon Valley in '86. I will never ride it again because I appreciate it too much. Probably sounds weird but the only time I was ever on the bike was at the racetrack. It was the racebike and was never trailridden.
As a kid I remember my dad saying a few times at the racetrack " If all you want to do is trailride you can park this and go home and ride the 200X" Every once in a while I would need that kick in the tail as a reminder to pick the pace up. Dad didn't want to just win, he wanted to embarrass the other fathers standing next to him:lol:
Why is it for sale? Because I am obviously:crazy::crazy::crazy:

That would be an awful long ride just to take a picture. I wish we had more racing pic's but everyone didnt' carry a phone in there front pocket back then.

Just one question. Why does it look like the frame is tweaked?I noticed in a previous picture looked that way also.

The frames werent' made by at the factory. If its the subframe (engine back) it's the custom part made by Tricky Dicks. It may look off in a picture because it looks like the left year tire is soft which might make it look weird. Since I am the only one who ever rode it I can assure you it's never been over or been bent.

I just went back and looked at the pic's and see what your talking about. I explained to Andy (tricky dick II) that I probably broke 3 swingarm bolts in half back in the day. I'm sure that is just a regular bolt that's in there right now that might be a little sloppy and account for the difference in the swingarm and frame looking off.

The bike should be on Ebay next week if nothing changes in the meantime. If you have any interest keep and eye on the upcoming auctions. Thanks

Cagiva Kid
10-10-2011, 11:39 AM
It never went on E Bay.....I registered an account and since it was going to be my first sale the high reserve I could put on it would have been $5,000. It wasnt going anywhere for that # so it was sold in a private sale.

Throw an old set of plastics on it....soak it with WD-40, then sweep the garage floor....she will never notice it, HOPEFULLY :wondering
I couldn't think of a better place for the old girl to go!! I hope you and your Dad enjoy it as much as we have for the last 25+ years :beer
