I posted a add on Craigslist looking for 250r's, 350x's, ect. I really wanted to find a set of oem fenders for my '86. A fella sends me pics of the '85 R and says that the fenders are in great shape but the rest of the bike is pretty much a basket case. I offer him $300 because that's what the last set of good oem fenders went for on Ebay, and I figure I can part the rest of it and maybe make my money back and basically have a set of fenders for nothing. I go look at the bike and buy it.

As we load it up he also says " Hey I have this old 350x that I am thinking of getting rid of also". I look at it and offer him a price, we both agree and away I went. I have no idea what I'm going to do with the X, but the R will be parted sans the rear fenders.

I don't think I got hurt. I gave $500 for the X and $300 for the R. The R's engine split the left case due to the chain so its in a million pieces.

Heck, clean the 350x, throw on some new fork boots, change the oil, air filter, oil filter, etc. and then sell it for $1200 haha

Its a little more ruff then the pics let on. They do it some justice. I consider the tank trashed, it has dents and is rusty, the rear fenders and seat are wasted, there is no rear caliper, and it needs axle bearings. But other than that its really not to bad.

One rear has a small dent but over all I think they are in great shape. I will clean it all up and take detailed pics of everything. You will have first dibs on them once I start tearing into it tonight.

The headlight shroud is wasted, but the glass lens is damn near perfect. I am jealous and wished it fit my '86. It looks like its never been used. The tank shrouds are cracked as usual around the bolt holes. Make me an offer on the parts if you still want them. I will be making an official for sale thread with the 250r so we're not going back and forth about selling parts in here.

Guy's as far as the X goes I am still not sure if it will be parted out. I would love to sell it whole if the price is right. I believe its on the fine line of being a decent rider with some money and elbow grease or it has many nice parts that would benefit others bikes if it was parted. Please PM me for now about the X if interested and we'll go from there.

Yes sir. It was in Bethalto. I saw one on craigslist a while back and hell I didn't even know they made them until I saw that one.

Its been a while since I saw the one on craigslist. I believe it was blue and had a big rack on the back. It looked weird with the floor boards on it. Kinda like a set of nerf bars.
