Yamaha air box, is it really needed??

Trying to restore my 225 DX and the air box is destroyed! Can i just put a K&N filter on the back of the carb, or will this cause problems??

You can do that, but will have to do a little jet work on the carb...

Be ready for it to run crappy every time you hit water or ride in the rain ..... put up a wtb in the classifieds i'm sure some one will hook you up with a nice one for a little cabbage
