I have found a item in AU that I wanted. The item isn't too big, I would say it would fit in a box no more than 12in sq and not more than 5 lbs.
The seller says:
Hi, Sorry to give bad news !!!!! Delivery by insured airmail to USA will be AU$64.00 (insured to $100). This includes the US security inspection charge to keep you safe. Cheers
I don't want the item that bad if shipping is that much.

This is the price just to ship a 12x12 box to AU and it has to be 20lbs or less

Yes, other countries shipping rates are steep, to say the least.
Dimitris from over in Greece has a T-3 fly wheel to send to me to do my refurbished trick on but shipping it to me was close to 100 dollars.
I shipped out a Tri-Z chain slider to the UK the other day and flat weight priority small box was 16 dollars and I thought that was a rip off but compared to what we would pay to get stuff into this country it seems to be a good deal.
I found out because of the light weight I could have shipped cheaper international but the buyer already paid for the higher shipping so off it went.
I sure wish they had not done away with international parcel. But like I said, I found out I could ship international first class parcel ,,,, I think that is what postal guy said.
