Its been a really long time since i've posted anything. Let me start by apologizing because there is probably a thread answering my question, but i've searched and scrolled and can't find a definite one yet. I have an '86 200x and its looking like its impossible to find a pair a front shocks. I read that 350x tripples/shocks will fit with minor mods to the steering stop. Is that true? My friends 18 y/o kid rode it without my knowledge one day and ran into a tele pole, bending the hell out of them. If I can get an answer I will gladly delete this thread if its a repeat. Thanks for any help.

You can simply slide in 83-85 forks into your triples.
Or, upgrade to a complete 350X front end, IDK what has to be modified. Some mods are easy, some will have you pulling your hair out..........

They are 3/4 inch shorter.......... Steel caps instead of aluminum etc etc.
BEWARE - Most 200X forks are slightly bent.

Ya 83-85 forks will works only difference is dampning rode inside, travel is less than 86 forks.. I actually couldn't find a set of 86 forks for mine so I actually took apart a set of 85 that had straight uppers and used my lowers since they weren't wallered out like the 85s and combined them to make a good set. I used the dampening rods and springs from the 86 and the caps off them 86 and it worked perfectly, just put new bushings and seals and fluid when put together.
