Seafoam for atc 110

I put a little seafoam in the gas and was wondering if it would be helpful to put a little in with the oil and run it for a short while then change the oil...The person I go the trike from would just ad oil to it since it had a leak..I fixed the leak but suspect there is some sludge build up from not draining it out like you should...

Anyone put a little seafoam in with the oil right before an oil change?

If it were me I would just change it and put in some good new oil.

Yea i am not sure, Wait for another response, But i would. I mean i wouldnt see why it would hurt, I mean dont ride it. Just leave it run for a few moments maybe pop it in 1st and cruise for 5 feet, And then change, Idk though

I never add anything to my oil, but to each their own. You can pull the right side cover off and take a look at the oil screen. Chances are that thing is gummed up, they normally are.

if it has an oil leak, it will get really bad after the seafoam. Usaully sludge partially seals oil leaks ( or leaks that havnt started yet) The seafoam will clean some sludge out but it will also remove this sludge from leaking areas and then you have a gusher. The best thing to use is a high detergent motor oil and change it often.

ive used it in the gas an oil on my harley an my cars an truck an trike... never had any issues what so ever... seafoam rocks!!

I would be worried about the seafoam messing with the clutch. its not made to work with wet clutches and could contaminate it. maybe

just change it and get the oil HOT and change it again.

I decided not to put it in the with the oil im just going to do a good hot oil change after I pull the crank case cover and clean the screen and such..

Sea Foam is also widely recommended for engine oil crankcases for cleaning oil residues and drying moisture as a pre service cleaner, after service additive or problem solver for oil residue related problems. ALL ENGINES!

If your wet clutch and engine oil share fluids, then Sea Foam Motor Treatment # SF-16 is EXCELLENT for that system. Partly because residue causes problems, but mainly because there may be excessive moisture in a shared system like that.

Moisture is the #1 thing that will deteriorate a "water based adhesive" clutch. That would be a clutch material with a water base glue as it's "Binding" material, similar to what is used in all automatic transmissions, where an oil based adhesive would dissolve in the oil or fluid.

ANY system that uses a "WET" clutch, the clutch material itself is made with and adheres to the steel components using water based adhesives, plus sometimes rivets. Like "SUPER ELMER'S GLUE", but, of course, BETTER QUALITY!

Some wet clutch systems use hydraulic oils/ATF's, in which case Sea Foam TRANS TUNE would be recommended, it is for hydraulic oils, and all the above apply.

If it's never been apart before the gasket will probably break when you pull it apart. It's not a bad idea to have the gasket when you take it apart just in case
