my 250r has the axle extenders that are on the hub.....the older ones....do u prefer wider axles? whats the difference in riding? is it easier to powerslide? harder? whats your input:wondering

there supposedly harder to turn with, but they give you more stability. I have a thread in here on em I have been thinking about getting some for my 250r. ohh and I almost forgot there called wheel spacers that should help you find out more stuff about em

They make it easier to slide, easier to hold a slide longer, and lessen the chances of a high side. The difference in turning at a slow speed is small. I personally would rather have an extended axle than use wheel spacers of any kind. I like to jump and hit whoops, and I don't like the thought of spacers in mid air.

thats kindof what i was thinking my 250r had the ones from the dealer back in the day? they look like solid steel ill post pics tomorrow if i find my camera but i was hitting alot of whoops today and was hesitating of getting it in the air because i thought they could be weeker having a longer bolt and a big metal/steel or (whatever their made of) inbetween the wheel and hub....

I run rear wheel spacers on my trx450 and my 250r and have never had a problem. I don't jump big (I never get the tires more than 4 ft off the ground really) but I hit whoops and do mostly fast trail riding and they work well. If you can afford it, an extended axle would be best but the spacers work well too.

i took them off last night and just rocked the bike left to right and it came up a whole lot easier so i just put them back on right now.....i was hittin the whoops kinda slow at first cause i didnt wanna just mess up my bike out there and then i was like f*ck it and started hittin the stuff a whole lot harder....have you ever had any problem with the bolts?the real long ones for the extenders?

You could also try the extended hubs

If you do any kind of jumping at all NEVER put wheel spacers or extended hubs on. Best case you bend the axle worst case you will end up in the hospital when the axle breaks trust me it hurts you should buy a good aftermarket extended axle they are twice as strong.

what are the wheel spacers made out of? like what material? steel alloy? what? because when i took them off they didnt look like they would hold up to much abuse

Really, extended hubs are made of billet aluminum....a hell of alot stronger than stock cast aluminum hubs and ive seen hundreds of folks jump with stock hubs and never have a problem!! I do agree an extended axle is the way to go, but the hubs are a better choice than spacers by far!!!

Most i have seen are billet aluminum also. i use the spacers for tt racing but would never try to jump with them.

I never said that you are going to break the spacers or the billet hubs . Im saying they are both junk and should never be used with a stock axle for jumping the problem is the axle itself when you change the load point of the axle like that it is going to bend under a load and sometimes break.

Some spacers are scary looking but I've used a set of G-Force spacers for 5 years and no problems. I catch lots of air, BIG AIR and they've seemed to hold up pretty well. Raced with them, trail rode with'em and their fine. I like them cuz in some trail systems it's like your on a deer trail and in 5 min I can size down for the trail. But then what do I know

you should get a set for your bike. you slide easier and longer... all around makes the bike safer. If you go very wide the bike does not high side at all.. It just slides to a stop. I have a dura blue extended axle and extenders on my 500R. I have the stock axle with axle extenders on my Tecate and 350x.
