I noticed you guys post hunting threads on here quite often so I thought I'd share what we do.

My partner has a 22,000 acre lease in Texas. We shut the shop down for four days and take all of our employees down once a year for an annual hunting trip.

No Deer, no Turkey, no Quail or anything like that. All hog and coyote.

We had fourteen attendees this year. Results we a little less than what we were used to. Only about 7-8 hogs killed with no yotes taken. We are usually able to at least triple that in hogs and bring in at least a half dozen yotes.

Here's some pics. Feel free to ask questions and I'll be more than happy to answer giving more details if you like.

In case anyone wants to know what my pretty face looks like I'm in the front row furthest to the right squatting down. Now you can officially stalk me.
I'm also the guy in the second pic posted holding the gun.

I got the back straps off the first 2-3 I killed, that was about six years and 40-50 hogs ago. I haven't cut one open since. They taste REAL gamey (sp). The second you shoot them they smell like they've been laying dead for 2 weeks. There's nothing remotely attractive about their meat to me.

I imagine the meat might a a "little" better if it were processed or ground up. We can't justify doing that to the several hundred they take off that lease every year. If we don't keep the population in check the rancher calls in an aerial shoot. It's been three years since he's done it. He threatened to do it on us this year due to the numbers they were seeing but we talked him out of it.

Here's some footage from some of our night hunting. Yes we use thermal imaging scanners and scopes. :) If it's legal I say do it.

so no real way to prepare them?
donate to the food bank?

Are they in the sage brush or acorns or something?

The ones we'd get in Big Sur were real good, coastal foraging, I guess.

Man, the special on the discovery channel said they're really tearing up thousands and thousands of acres everywhere.
Hawaii too.
