View Full Version : tri z leaking coolant from head studs

just fired up my z for the first time today after a full rebuild top to bottom. i have coolant leaking from the head studs. i got a new cylinder so i had to install my old studs but i didnt put any type of sealant on the threads. should have i done so???? i torqued the head down just as the book said. any ideas?????

My Tecate did that after the rebuild. I got a bad head gasket. It happens sometimes. Make sure you use the best brand for your hot rod (Yamaha?).

I have also had that problem with a ATC 250 R. Turned out to be a warped head...

tried another gasket still just coming out of the studs but also a little out of the base gasket. any other ideas? vesrah head gasket and athena base. should i go oem on both?

I always use oem gaskets on the head and base gaskets.. Try that..
