last summer i had a 1983 200x. i always took good care of it, canged the oil regularly, always stored it indoors, checked the oil before i rode, didn't over rev. i took it for a ride, it was warmed up, because i was riding it earlier, and after about 10 minutes the wheels locked up and the engine was siezed. i took it back to my garage and got it unstuck, but afterwards it smoked really bad. you couldnt even see through it. it ran fine besides the smoke. i sold it (for more than i paid for it;)) a few weeks later and bought a 250r. i know its a little late now, but what could have happened to it? and what should i do if it happens again? thanks

Sounds like either the oil pump went bad or you ran out of oil and seized the piston . Hard to guess without tearing the motor apart .

i had checked the oil a few minutes before, it as fine, when it seized i checked it again and it was fine, and like i said i got it un stuck and it ran fine then just smoked. i did end up taking the head and case civers off, but it looked fine inside.
