Hey guys, I am redoing my 85 250r. I dont use an airbox and right now I have a custom fab rubber boot from the carb to airfilter that doesnt work that great. Just woundering what setup you guys are running? Are you running a K & N with a degree bend in it? Any info would be great. Just trying to make this thing cleaner looking and better funcation.

Thanks
Tyler

I run a ESR air box eliminator for the TRX. It takes some masaging of the metal tube to clear the frame and shock.

Kept mine stock, since I don't race it, don't really matter and no issues.

The uni I use in my stock airbox is tricky to make stay on. There is someone on one of the 2 3ww boards that has metal sleeve to put on and makes a better seal. I cant remember who. I live in Wisconsin and my machine has to be quiet so I run the original air box.

Dirtcrasher made the rings for them, on my old 250r's I used UNI with no lid and extra airbox holes. Never had a issue with not staying clamped on.

You need an inner support or the air box rings I make for the R and all the X's.............

It's in my sig; Your filter will never fall off again! I can make the pair, or just one for the filter for about the cost of a case of beer.

Is the filter easy to take on and off?

My brother is using a K&N filter on the stock intake system of his 250R, inside of a heavily ventilated airbox (though it shouldn't be called an airbox anymore when all of the sides are cut away exposing the airfilter, and there is just enough of the airbox left over to mount it to the airbox mounting tabs), and after a recent airfilter cleaning, he started having issues with his filter slipping off.

I'm currently in the process of installing a TRX airbox on my 250R, and when complete, I will be using a K&N filter as well.

Steve is an awesome guy to deal with, makes a quality product, & ships quickly. I was going to post a photo of them, but I found a bunch of photos in this thread, just scroll down to the 6th post & you'll see them.
