ouch, time to open it up and take a look. It could be a very loose valve, or a damaged component to your valve train.
It could be piston slap if the cylinder/piston are real worn out.
your cam chain could be supper loose and the tensioner could be broken
either way, it sounds bad enough to open her up and take a look.
also, it sounds like you have a intake leak, when your at lower RPMs accelerating it has a bit of hesitation (which it shouldn't have, sounds like its struggling a bit. mine did not do it with my 180 pound body on it at least) and thats when you can really hear it. make syure your intake manifold to the cylinder and carb is sealed and tight.
these reason can all lead to that hesitation also. (and you say it smokes some, another sign of something wrong)
you got yourself a nice 110, its just time to do some work to keep it that way.
get a manual and if you can someone to help and get the top end off for a look.
good luck

A little history...I have about $200 into it and would not mind spending another $200 if thats what it takes to make it purrrr...The guy I got it from said it had no compression when he got it so he just slapped a set of rings in and bam is starts and runs...he didnt hone it or anythign just new rings and gasket maker. Hmmmm
I was in high in snow thats why it took off so slow...no hesitataion or lag at all it runs and shifts perfect and has great power in low other than the noise problem....(I guess im not sure how well it should take off in high gear with a 200lb rider but I was easing on the gas and I have a uni filter that is loud)

oh, ha yeah that will do it.
well, if it just got new rings, the cylinder and piston could defiantly be worn out. theres no telling what the sound is, unlike doctors who have Ultra sounds and MRIs. mechanics just dig in. first place to check would be to adjust your valves. pull your valve covers and check to see if they are super loose.
but i have never heard a loose valve that loud, but it could just be the way it sounds for the camera.
after a valve adjustment and it still does it, open it up. and while your in there replace parts that are worn like the cam chain and stuff.
if you do the work yourself, you could get the whole top end rebuilt for 200-250 bucks. and that is replacing everything that can wear out. look for parts on ebay, Dr ATV.com and people here. then you would be set for a long time to come just as long as your crank and tranny and clutch checks out. or just fix whats broke and keep riding it.
if you replace everything thats worn out and not just broken things you can find yourself spending 500 bucks like i did. lol
either way, look on fixing your current problem, then decide what you want to do while your inside and seeing the condition of everything else.

Im wondering if its piston slap since he just tossed some rings on an old worn out piston(?)...I dont want to go any deeper than a hone and a new piston/rings otherwise I may just sell if for what I have into it and move on...but Ill start with the valve adj...
"pull your valve covers and check to see if they are super loose."
Where are the covers located and how do i check if they are loose?

you might be able to get away with a hone and new piston, you could take pictures of your cylinder and post here for a few of us to look at.
but getting your cylinder bored to the next appropriate size is only like 50 bucks. My local car quest even has a full machine shop that could do it.
I had my 110cylinder sent out to a specialist with a 56mm race piston and it only cost me 55 bucks and it was considered a hard job since the piston was so large.
so a new piston (that comes with rings) and bore job will only put you down 100 bucks if you buy from the right places.
whatever it is, it sounds to be coming from the top end.
your just gonna have to take a look.
selling is one option, but how much fun have you had on your 110? for some reason my 110 was more fun then any other machine I have owned.
sure it lacks power and cant play with the big boys, but i never got off without a smile.
turns a small yard trip into an epic adventure. unlike a bigger machine where you gotta go to your nearest riding area.

RPM-I have a blast on the 110. I call her Little Red...there is just something about how small/big slow/fast it is and its simplicity that I enjoy...but I may not have the funds and or the means to store a kinda broke atc. My garage and wallet are only so big...and Im buying a 200x today :naughty: The 110 may have to go but im going to try my best to keep her at least until I can get the top end off and post of vid of my findings for analysis :D

Well passed on the 200x for $650...it had a broken front fender and needed a front tire...the rear tires were blackwaters on 350x rims..they seemed wide and heavy but holy cow did that thing handle well..maybe a little too well as I could see my self getting a little OC on that thing...I think im just going to dump some money into the 110 since shes in such good shape...Im going to check the valves first then pull the top end and see whats making the noise...
But for sure im going to have a hone done and a new piston and rings...What piston & (brand/size) rings should I go with?

someone just told me to............."hey its your valve guide take off the little cover on head of motor, its a small cap, about a 50 cent piece ,,then while its running slowly tighten the valve bolt , that will fix it , and run better"
Can anyone elaborate on this? When I took the cap off (it broke!) It looks like the nut and bolt are pumping up and down when the engine is running???

the engine should be off when your messing with that. yep, the pumping up and down is the opening and closing of your valve. that is where you will do your valve adjustment. theres 2 of these valve covers, one on top for intake and one on bottom for exhaust.
you are going to need a feeler gauge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feeler_gauge they are only a couple bucks.
you need to set your engine to Top Dead Center (aka TDC) (when your valves are both closed, this would be when your piston compresses your fuel/air mixure and the spark plug ignites it.)
then you will need to feel how large the gap is between the rocker arm and top of valve with your feeler gauge. you can adjust the gap with a nut and you will need to set the gap to the spec. http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php?126529-ATC90-110-125m-(84-85)-amp-TRX125-(85-86)-Service-Data (.002-.003 inch) with the feeler gauge.
a manual will help with details...
