View Full Version : How stiff should the front shocks be on a ATC 250es?

I thought the shocks on my ATC 250es were weak. So this weekend I bought another ATC 250es for parts. To get the shocks to go down on the parts 250es, I have to get a 250 pound person to hang over the handle bars and rock. Then they go down maybe 1"

On my old driving 250es, the same man will make them go down about 2 to 3". Which do you think is more correct?

Thanks,

Never really thought about it.

I usually jump on mine to check bearings and some are squishier than others,
shock wise.
I guess there are different oils to change resistance and some also get bent
and do not slide well.

I wonder if there is a correct way to check them?
or if you can find the orig sales brochures on here, it
may state shock travel specs.

Just guessing that of the load rating for the whole trike is, say, 300 lbs.

250 just on the front should be able to bottom them out.
The rear shock should be adjustable.
