i just got a yt175 for 150$ everything came in boxes and i almost have it together. I had a yt125 years ago. Anyways the guy i bought it from said it has a manual clutch and when i went to hook up all the cables all i figured out is that it doesnt... Can anyone confirm this? Also he couldnt find the coil but he said he got me a different one from a kawasaki. Are most of those old coils close to the same? Will it work?

I just found out the coil is from a Kawasaki 292 and it looks the exact same but it has different mounting brackets

Hey, nice to see another Minnesota rider! The YT 175 did not come with a manual hand clutch from the factory, but it is not impossible for it not to have one. The clutch setup and main transmission shaft can be used from a late 70's yamaha 175 dirtbike to make it manual. I couldnt tell you about the coil, but I know a yt 125, 175, and tri z coil are all the same. I believe the YT 60 tri zinger may also use the same coil, but not 100 percent. Good luck, and hope you get her together!
