I have a 85 atc 110 as you may know from previous
threads, my problem is this, the trike idles and runs
and revs great, and riding on a flat surface is gravy, now
if I get on a trail, or even attempt a climb of any sort
and I mean any load at all, the climb in mention is really
nothing more than a slight elevation, 10 degree! It will not
go at all, I have checked and adjusted clutch, and rebuilt carb
With new jets, gaskets, etc,.. just under Any load it struggles
Tremendously, even a turn from a stop it just sits. Extreme
Power loss, compression is good, no smoke, good clutch
Only problem I know is float valve spring, but doesn't affect
It at all. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, I don't
Want to sell it yet, its a very clean, well taken care of machine.
And yes I have correct oil in it!!

When you say you have checked and adjusted the clutch and that the clutch is good, are you saying that you have brand new clutch plates, friction plates, springs and that everything is adjusted per the manual?

As in the bike is a 2 owner bike and adjusted correctly
As per Honda, and simply just has no power under any
Sort of a load, if I rev it up and dump it it will stand strait
Up, but if your at a stop, and in full turn it just won't even
Get past maybe, 2400 rpm, and sits, thus machine was
Owned by a old guy whom never took it out of low range
And used 2 to 3 times a year to get a dear home from
Woods, the adjustment on clutch hasn't even exceeded the
Lock nut yet, so its never been adjusted out, I checked
It and turned counter clockwise until I felt resistance, and
Then back in 1/4 turn and locked it in. But you can tell
Without doubt it is a power problem, as like I said it will
Stand strait up, and even when taking off on flat surfaces
It doesn't slip at all but really struggles power wise to get
Moving, like a fat kid in a 50!!

sounds like something maybe wrong with the clutch, maybe a warped spring, not letting the clutch fully activate.

Do you have a strong spark?? An old fashion automotive spark tester will tell the KV output of your coil..insufficient spark tension at the plug will cause a lack of power off idle. I don't know how the 110 advances or retards it's spark..improper spark advance will also cause it.

OR have you checked to see if either of the exhaust/intake valve return springs are broken. If a valve isn't closing properly you will get a similar symptom. While you are at it check the valve clearance adjustment..

Sounds like the timing advancer is stuck . Pull the cdi cover off and see if the advancer moves with a little spring tension .

Could be timing advance, it was gone into upon replacing
The bent exhaust valve my dealer did that operation, and
I did notice the spark wasn't a good blue, but a yellow, and it
Really is lacking power at take off, I will check those three things,
And one last question, if it is weak spark, how do I correct
That?

Bad coil maybe or check for problem with bad grounds to start..there are tests for voltage before and after coil. Probably can be found in manual. Do you have the link to the manual??..it's around here somewhere.

Wait, what..you said a bent exhaust valve was replaced? Has this been a problem only since that repair??

Valve timing could definitely be this issue..when the dealer replaced the valve they may have made a mistake while putting it back together.

No, the power problem existed before the valve repair
It's always had a lot of low end weakness, I'm ready to just
Sell it!! And go bigger, I'm not expecting to haul ass on a
110 but I do expect it to atleast move on its own power!!
It truly feels as if I'm trying to take off on a 49cc kids bike
On a hill just trying to move in full turn from a stop. But
Once you get it going its fine, all the power you need, will
Top out about 35 but getting it going is the problem!!
