I'm curious to know, when switching to a higher octane fuel; say 100LL, are you supposed richen or lean out the jetting? My 350x is running 10.25 compression with the stock for now. Today I decided to run a tank of 100LL. I couldn't really feel any gains or losses in power but it sure did smell better. I understand the theory behind compression and octane but hypothetically, should one jet richer or leaner??

higher octane just resists detination. so say 13 compression would run 110 octane. higher octane does not make you gain power. it just works with a higher compression

I understand the relationship between octane and compression levels. I also know the specific gravity of 100LL is smaller then pump gas. So basically, would this mean that it is a leaner burning fuel?
Now whether or not any power is gained or taken away is another story.
