Got this for 600 in Sioux Falls. Im pretty happy with it, just needs a few things. It has brand new aftermarket plastics on it front and rear and has a new aftermarket chrome exhaust that sounds awsome! The bad news is it needs a kick start return spring and a clutch. It shifts though all the gears but it slips sometimes. Also need a tank shroud on the left side. Any idea what its going to cost to fix? Honda said they dont have any of the parts I need.

Looks like a good start to me, did you adjust the clutch before jumping to the conclusion that you need a new clutch? My 125 slipped, adjusted, and bam, doesn't slip at all anymore.

 trailpro FYI the tank shroud you have is a maier super scoops, not OEM. You should be able to find a return spring from someone on here. Sorry, i don't remember who has em. And you can try cheapcycleparts.com for OEM clutch parts.

Now I know the 200X goes cheap out west but around here they are hard to find. So I dont think I did too bad on price just a little upset about the clutch. I tried to adjust it but didnt get any better. IDK Im happy I finally got one just wish it didnt need anything lol. What do you guys think?

You did good. I paid 400 for one that does not run. Only good thing on it was new tires. Fixing up a clutch is not a big deal.

Honda said they dont have any of the parts I need.

First of all...download a manual from here and memorize the exploded views....seriously

Honda will always try and say they don`t have the parts you need...most dealerships I been to do the whole "Oh an ATC, huh?" "Don`t have anything for that"...bull...now have them lookup XR200R and check the exploded view to confirm...the part numbers from Honda will be different in almost every case, but they are interchangeable

this is where the memorization comes in to play.

what I do is go in and ask for PRE-1984 XR200 motor parts....I believe the kicker spring should be the same as it`s only the kicker cover that`s different between the two where the 200X has the extra stub-out with the extra gear to reverse the kicker direction...internal stuff is almost all identical between the X and XR or at least interchangeable.

84-85 XR200 was a more-than-two valve design and WILL NOT interchange so any XR200 stuff from any year but 84-85 should work. I have an X motor here that has almost an entire NOS topend courtesy of the ole XR200 and it`s greater availability of factory parts in stock...lot`s of XR parts in that motor top and bottom end both

hope this helps.

there`s also a thread about what brake calipers and parts will interchange I think in Mad Scientist subforum....check that out to do any brake caliper rebuilding/replacing

Nice score

I never have had any luck with mankato Honda, especially when you mention the word ATC or 3 wheeler. If you need any help with anything on the wheeler, let me know. I graduated from college in 05' for Power sports technology, and know how to work on 3 wheelers. Also, I dont live too far away, and am in Mankato every day for work. If you cant find the parts anywhere, let me know. I have a few 200x motors for parts, I dont know about the clutch parts, but I believe I should have a kickstart return spring somewhere. I have to get all my stuff organized and see what I have. It is all at my parents farm, so I wouldnt be able to get to it until the weekends. We should go for a ride sometime when you get it up to par. Glad to see another 200x in town, ------ Jon.

Doesn't the kick start return spring require the cases being split?

if you got to split the cases its either going to cost a handful of money to have it done or if you happen to have all the proper tools and a manual it can be easy.

you need parts check out servicehonda.com
