I am wondering if it would be wise to trade my completely mint all oem stock 86 atc250r for a 2009 honda cbr1000. There is a guy in my town that wants to trade even. I don't think I will ever find another 250r as nice as the one I have anytime soon. Just wondering what I should do. The cbr is mint and never been dropped. Summer is coming and a nice streetbike would be fun too.

2009 CBR 1000rr is worth about 8,000 (little more before summer) In the states. I would Of Done it on the spot.

I agree, you can sell the 1000rr and buy a mint 250r and a mint 350x off ebay. A mint condition 250r will only grab 3-4k. The 1000rr is worth a lot more, but you are in Canada. You have less of a street bike season, plus mint 250r's in the states might be tough to get in if you ever change your mind.

Also, the 250r is going up in value while the 1000rr is losing value.

make sure theres a clear title in hand and check the vin# sounds way to good to be true

or do the trade, find a nice roller, and drop the 1000 in the roller, and then bobs your uncle, the first cbr1000 trike, and hold on tight

I wouldnt do it. There are plenty of street bikes out there, not so many OEM original 250r's, and they are getting fewer and farther between every day.

If it's clean (title), do it! You can always sell or trade later if you don't crash it! It's all a matter of perspective...I like dirt and snow myself...

if the bike is clean title, and minty, I would trade. Unless your R is worth 7 or 8 grand...

Well it turns out the cbr isn't a cbr...it's a 2009 cb900f. That bike is ugly. I think I will keep my R. I was really tempted to trade for the cbr.

My $.02; If the CBR is in good shape, that is a great trade for you. A 2009 CBR 1000 books at $9020 in good condition on KBB.com. If the title is clear and the bike is legit, trade the 250r, ride the CBR for the summer, sell it and get 2 nice 250r's!

I wouldn't do it in general if it was a Cbr it will only decrease in value and the 250R will only increase as it ages in the long run now that u know what it looks like and that it isn't a Cbr you made the right decision

Bleh, to me(OPINION WARNING), any streetbike that's not an older model VMAX, is just plain ugly.

Sorry, I prefer my bikes older than me. 88 VMAX for instance.

it is a 919, a nice, fast standard bike. comfortable, too...you could ride a 919 all day...try that with the cramped little totrure rack of a 1000rr

still worth more than an old 3 wheeler...this is a buisness decison....

man that R is amazing.... i think if i had that sitting at my place nothing would ever strike me as a possible trade.

Eaxctly what I was thinking. Always will be plenty of streetbikes out there. And the value of that bike is dropping while the value of that R is climbing. It would have to be a ridiculously lop-sided deal in my favor for me to let my R go...And that bikes value wouldnt be lop-sided enough for me. :TrikesOwn
