I am going to be buying a helmet camera and was wondering who has one? Is there a brand I should stay away from?, Im looking for something I can mount on my helmet as well as on the trike. How much memory is enough? bat life ect. ect.....what are some recommendations? Will be using on 350x and 250r so the camera will need a fast capture speed somewhere around warp speed

go pro man. its the way to go. i have one. u can put mounts in all different places then just clip the camera into whatever one best fits that ride/day. they make handle bar mounts, roll bar mounts, helmet mounts, suction cup mounts, etc....

u can also buy separate batteries to have charged and it just uses SD cards.

Yea they do seem like a real good camera but with that comes a higher price tag, but you get what ya pay for. Who's got a gopro any complaints?

I bought a pair of goggles from liquid image off Ebay and like them a lot . They are more expensive than a gopro but to me they are worth it . I've had a very good experience with them so far .

Wondering myself, which gopro do you all suggest. You could post an ebay link or a web page link to the one you suggest if you like. Thxs

On the home page towards the bottom, Dammit did an incredible write up on the go pro camera, check it out.

For me, its go pro all the way. best bang for your buck!

There are some great HD helmet cameras out at the moment. There is useful table that directly compares three of the better ones, the GoPro HD, ContourHD and Drift HD170, at http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/comparison_of_hd_helmet_cameras. It compares the main features, battery life, mounts etc. so you might find it useful when making your decision.

Go pro is not expensive at all. When u c the quality of vids from it and everything else it's amazing. Ease of use too. Check out my snowmobile videos if u haven't already. I posted one up awhile ago I think. You can c them on YouTube and just make sure u put it on HD.

Looks like go pro is the way to go... pro, the quality is unmatched from what I have seen. How are you guys mounting to the whips? is there a mount or something homemade? Rubber cement and ducktape haha

The last two videos on my channel are from my HD Go Pro. The quality outside in the sun is just plain sick.

k00leo , I have 2 of those and if you get the right model they aren't half bad . You just have to watch the quality of the processor ; some are junk .

I agree. They are pretty neat. A nice little toy.

Just as a side note - you guys should not compare any youtube video with what the GoPro is actually capable of. Youtube really degrades quality when they compress video.

but since it degrades them all the same way it kinda works as a comparison. with my vids on youtube you can choose 1080p and then open the player in its own window. it looks great.

Even the 1080p on youtube is way compressed compared to what it looks like on a big screen TV plugged in with audio/video cables, Trust me!
