Harley tiple trees for inverts?

Some guy told me today tht on an 86 tri z he used stock triple trees from a glide for inverts, is tht possible?

I have heard of guys using parts off of the road bikes, like VT1300 or 1800's and Harleys, But a lot of research I am sure to be involved in using them to make sure they work.

if your planning on using a set of inverts, heres a chart telling you the fork mm on a TON of bikes.
