scored a 84 big red in mint cond

well my friend i work with gave me a 84 big red 200es it has high and low and reverse and he told me he had it running but the only thing it gave him trouble b/c it would not stay running.. so today i went over it i need some parts like a right hand brake leaver front brake hub choke cable battery and redo the pull start..ok so My only problem i have is when i took down the carb i took the bowl off to clean it and really see if the gasket were good but come to find out they were not..so i took the bowl off and i saw some green stuff in it..i do not know if it was old gas or what did any of yall ran across this problem trailprotrailpro? Green stuff? Like a coating, or crud, or goop? :)

After a wile gas turns into something similar to varnish, get a can of carb cleaner, and a rag, and spend some quality bonding time with it, clean the jets out good, and make sure the needle is clean. Luckily, working with a carb is normally more time than money.

I did the but the green stuff was like goop i clean it all out used a whole bottle of carb cleaner n some shop rags lol it came all off but never seen it trailprotrailpro like that

After a while gas gets kinda scary, looks like it's going to end up being a cheap movie monster. It's always a reminder to never let something sit with gas in the carb.
