View Full Version : New year, New build 86 tri-z
Well i have been sitting on this one for a few months, So i figured it was about time to let the Cat outta the bag, I picked this 86 Z up from yamahauler, and have Started to get around to re-assembling it, It came with alot of YAMAHONDAMAN stuff, including a Cyl he ported, head, flywheel and a BIG box of goodies!!! :naughty::naughty: Just been working on assembling the bottom end...replaced all the bearings, Riped another motor down for a few parts, unfortunately the 6 speed has a Bad fork (hard to believe i know ) So i will be putting a 1+4 in, with anyluck should have the motor buttoned up next week sometime, Then the fun of sandblasting and painting begins...Someone did a really nice rattle can job on the frame and swing arm!!!

That will be such a nice bike when you are finished. I have had an 86 for awhile and rode it just about every day never let me down. It almost felt like i was sitting in a cock pit of a plane. Does Yamahauler still have the 85z for sale?

Lets see some pics of what you've done...Looks shiny still!!!! I am down to one trike, after selling 5 trikes...raised myself enough money to buy a 2011 Yamaha 20HP Outboard! havent had it out on the water yet...I have one trike left that i am not selling, and 84 200s...it will be used to pull my boat across a portage in a remote northern manitoba lake...I might need this boat to get around brandon if it floods anymore!!
Well progress has been a bit slow been really busy with work and things, did manage to pice toghter a half decent 5 speed out of the 2 sets I have, need to figure out the shift forks, have 2 sets but the offset of the pins that contact the shift drum are differnt on both.
Ok...so after reading this....i got a little motivatuon going and got the cases toghter, finish it up tommrow;)
