London here. dougspcs, are you planning on going to the trike circus at Bundy Hill in a few weeks? We will be driving right threw Sarnia to get there.

Here's a thought, what if we were to organize a mini-event and get a bunch of other SW Ontario guys. We could pick a place, and have a blast..why should the American guy have all the fun?

Date: early June?
Place: Gopher Dunes??? ( never been there, but I here it's cool and central enough the no one should have more than a couple hours drive )

Anyone with any other ideas, throw it down. Better location ideas?

Some of us are heading to Silver Lake (Mi.) on the 2nd weekend of June. I'd be game for the 1st weekend.
Gopher is alright, about 35km of trails and the big track, no plates or Ins required. Just down the road is Walsingham. Plates and Ins. required there.

I know there will be a ride at the Ganaraska forest this spring as well. Excellent location, plates and Insurance required there as well.

How long did it take us to run the trails at Gopher Dunes?. Don't forget that they closed half the trails down at Walsingham because of the endangered weed that they found. Either way, it will still be great to ride with a bunch of trikers! Count me in, just post up where you want to meet!

I think we spit them out in about 45 mins.:lol: but we could ride slower. I think it would still be the best place to go' especially if a few guys don't have the insurance thing set up yet' it doesn't matter there.

Yes, I agree, I think this will be the closest organized ride I've been to!

Just an Insurance update... according to the local State Farm Agent here they no longer insure trikes, just 4 wheelers... Anyone else called yet in their area???

*UPDATE* So I phone Nicole McCann's office (State Farm) from the OFTR site... seems to be no problem there, she is sending me over information by email... I will update as the process unfolds lol

ya the ganny opens may 1st:) there is also another place to ride just off the 401 befor the 115 cut off. I can't remeber the name right now but you dont have to have an ownership or insurance to ride there. I will get the name of it in a few days. Aaron

I think he might be talking about Newtonville, but there's NO WHERE you can legally ride with no insurance unless it's your own property.

And yes, Sunday May 1st is the first Ganny meet of the year! (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php?110565-Ganaraska-Forest&p=927637) Can't wait!!!!

I ride in the Raglan pit all the time, I have been there the last 2 weekends, it's a good spot with some trails, sand and some small hills. it's not overly large, but great for a day's riding. It's a few minutes north of Bowmanville, not far from the Ganaraska. Here is a map for Raglan pit http://mapq.st/i25Dxa

I think we are going to pull a 180 on our Ganaraska idea..too hard to find a decent place to ride in lower Ontario before May 1st. We are looking for an all-day trail ride, not a gravel pit. (no offense to any of the suggestions given) Most trails down this low don't open to motorized vehicles until Sunday..lame.

So my brother and I booked a bit further north in Kearney..they got a great event planned that weekend and they have hundreds of miles in trails to ride.

Here is the link for anyone is up for the drive..we will be there showing the locals how to do it 3wheelie style.

Should be a bucket o fun for anyone up for it..

$60 each??? No crap...I called the other link and was quoted $120 each and thought that was good. Never even tried the State Farm.

Maybe I will before I sign!! Thanks for the update.

Your welcome... I was quite suprised as well when I got the quote back from them. Still awaiting the paperwork, but the ball is rolling. Have a blast up north on that ATV ride, looks like from the past pics you will be muddy :)...
