you maybe should have posted this in trikeslyvania, but if it were mine,I personaly would look for a different frame. Some would say you could fix it and it probrably could but if it took a hard enough hit to break the frame what else got trashed?I have a spare 85 frame that got a little bent by the grab bar mount. Not really sure what to do with it

Is it the large downtube the tank sits on? I've chopped them out nd used thicker wall tubing to replace them when the rest of the frame was decent.

Send it my way, I'll take care of it :D

this is what im working with like i said i paid 500 for the bike.
choping out the down tube is a good idea thanks
i was thinking about cutting the bad section and fitting a new peace inside the tube welding it and welding another peace over top of it.
oh and if you look close it broke cause of some rot thanks to the salty water of the south carolina coast

Might wanna make sure the forks are straight. IDK if it broke and from rust, or broke from beating on it and then got tucked away and rusted.

Frames will dry up one day fellas. May as well fix what we can. that "issue" area doesnt look like rot induced failure to me. Think, in 10-15 years, a frame like that will be worth something!

300th has it right don't throw your bad parts away they may be fixable one day or used for a pattern to build new parts

i didnt plan on throwing it out but i did call the guy i bought it from and i got 200 back cause he told me all it would need is rings. the only good parts i got off it were the wiring, new clutch (still in the package), radiators, rims and triple tree. everything else was trashed. it saddens me to see a trike in this bad of shape. long live the trike

jeez, got 200 bucks back?

Someone is a hustler.

I say trash the fame and get another one. Something cracked that bad is dangerous, even if repaired.

Get a new one, and donate that frame to someone who is capable of fixing it correctly (DC comes to mind).
