Peter and I were out to Raglan pits last Sunday. There was still a bit of ice and snow through the forest, but I would say by May 1 it will be long gone. May 1 is on a Sunday this year, and if everyones schedule is clear, I say lets ride. Hopefully there will be a few more new faces this year. cheer's

I have found the most convenient places to purchase a pass from is either the Petro Canada or Ganaraska Leathercraft.

We ask that everyone purchase their passes before meeting so no time is wasted and we can start the ride ASAP.

Depends on how many times you plan on riding the Ganny, I'm there almost every weekend, it would be nice to have a few more riders coming out on a regular basis. As for the time and location, Xhumeka usually sets the time, and which parking lot to meet at, and links a nice map to this thread, so everybody know's where to go. May 1, can't wait!

I know the spot you're speaking of Tapper - we nick-named it "Big Dog Parking" because the first time we found it, there was this big ass dog hanging out there. It's definitely a little easier to get to (coming from the South at least) and there should be enough room to park for everyone.

So how's this for a plan...

I figure 10am will give those traveling from London etc enough time to get here without having to wake up at 4am.

I'm starting to think though - it's going to be busy for opening weekend, and now that it seems there's going to be around 15 of us, I think we better change our meeting place back to P3.

Big Dog Parking is definitely more convenient for a lot of us, but it's just not big enough for our group, especially if there are a few others parking there already. Also, that parking lot is technically not a Ganny parking lot, and I've heard rumors you can get in trouble for parking there. Maybe Myles/Peter can confirm, they would know better than me.

But even if it is OK to park there, I still think it might be too small... what do you guys think?

If it were just our group I would agree - but last time I was there it was almost filled by 10am; and again, since this is opening day, I just want to be sure we all have room and we're not split between two areas especially if we are planning to have a bbq lunch.

We will be there at 8am you are welcome to meet up with use, we are just going to go out for alittle ride and then maybe head back to the trucks around 10 or when ever. I had it at his place saturday and decided to race him on his big red and it didnt work out so well for me. Well, if I fixed the problem, we'll line them up! Not sure of the out come now, I put a bigger sprocket on the rear and tried to quiet the bike down a bit for a riders behind me.

For those worried about their ride being too slow, don't be. We always travel in a snake formation, with the slower riders at the rear. At EVERY intersection you ALWAYS wait for the guy behind you, and every 20-30 minutes the leader usually stops for a break to let the group catch up. We always accommodate slower riders so never worry about that!

And yes - with rain in the forecast all week it will likely be sloppy at the Ganny! But that's to be expected with Spring riding... 2 months from now when we're eating each others dust and our lungs are caked with it we'll be wishing for this type of riding weather again ;)

Make sure you double check all nuts / bolts first James! Don't want to have your new bike fall apart on the trails, EVERYTHING was loose on my es when i bought it. And the 125 i just bought. The bolts on the cases were so loose it was leaking oil.

I just bought a cheap ass raincoat from canadian tire. 11 bucks for a large, that is big enough to fit over any of my big jackets. Its one of those cheap, thin ones. But it is waterproof. Right beside the rubber boot section. Hope this helps.

I like playing in the mud, but getting cold and wet and then driving 3+hrs home isn't something we're looking forward to. I realized the same thing Saturday night around 9pm. Luckily State Farm has a 24 hour support line, emailed me proof of insurance, and I had Mike print it off for me (since I don't have a printer!!).

As usual - no paperwork check at the Ganny... they should bust more people for not having Ganny passes/insurance and use that money to hire crews to clear trails!! ;)

Great job BJ, just think what kind of vids. you can get at Silverlake! I think the high light of the day was racing up sand hill, lol. It was great to ride with everyone again and the new riders that came out!

I'm one of the slower riders on my LTZ 400 and I topped out at almost 67Km on the fire roads according to my bike. If I had to guess I'd think most of the trikes would hit 80 or better.

GREAT video BJ, I'm glad you caught some of those moments on camera... Like James' Sand hill tip that i missed when i was there! hahaha!
Hopefully i'll have a 85r sometime during the Ganny season so that i can do some climbing too, and go faster than my slow ass Big Red.
Can't wait to get back out there and ride with you guys again! Definitely let me know when you guys are going again, it was great to finally meet all you guys! I had a BLAST!!

Hey guys ! I want to thank you all for riding with me in the Ganny and for all those who helped out Lynds while she was out on the track! She had a great time out there and is looking to come out more this summer as well as to future trips US side! She also wants to paint one of the sx's PINK but we can save that poll for another day!

I fought for another hour last night trying to seat the bead - I have two ratchet straps around the tire and have snugged them as tight as I can, and I still can't seat the bead.

The saga continues lol! Did you uses lots soap and water? If you still can't get it to pop then take it to a tire shop so they can pop it.

I had a few bumps in the road but I'm back to the regular stupidity I call life. I'll have to wait for a trip to silver lake, the pics I've seen from your trips definitely seal the deal for a trip in the future.
