So I'm trying to upload a video from my computer to either you tube or photobucket. Youtube is about a 7 hr. wait and photobucket, well, forget it. I have tried to do things on photobucket and spent 5-6 hours and I give up there. Can someone help out? At the rate I'm going, the video of me and Onnie yesterday riding will be uploaded by Wednesday (WTF!!). How do I get it to upload on youtube in under 3 days, lol? One is like 16 minutes, the other under 10. We haven't figured out how to edit and make video's etc., yet because it's brand new to us, and uploading the video from our computer, to anything else, takes over 5 hours (just used the camera 1st time last night). Thanks all-

I had the same problem, the videos my camera takes are to big and takes forever for my wimpy internet.
so, what i did was google it and found this.
go to windows movie maker (i have windows 7, its there for me and came on my cheap computer, im guessing its free with any windows computer)
and get the video you want to upload on there (either click and drag or browse for it) and there u can edit and add music ect....
while your in there you will see a link to youtube, click on it and it will make u log into youtube and just follow the steps there.
i orginally tried uploading a 76MB 58 second video threw youtube and it said i had a 3 hour wait.
doing it threw windows movie maker shortened the time to 10 mins.
all in all, if this does not work, look around on google. it answers all my computer problems.

You really do have to use a video editor to cut down the video file size to something manageable. Windows Movie Maker comes with every copy of windows, and it's a fairly easy software to use. Basically, all you have to do is open the folder containing your video files, then click on them and drag them into WMM into the video files bin. Then from there you can drag your video clips into the time line and begin cutting out the useless bits (like if there is a long wait inbetween on screen activity) to shorten the clip down as well as reduce the file size.
Ideally, you are going to want your videos no longer than about 8 minutes, because of the way YouTube operates. Larger video files (10 minutes or longer) take longer to upload as well as download.
The neat thing with WMM is you can add titles to your videos, add cross fade transitions between video clips, add credits, and even add music into the background if you want to (depending on the band, the audio may be muted in some countries if the record company doesn't want their music to be published on youtube- they have audio filters that can detect audio clips and mute them). YouTube is the best place to go for video uploading- forget photobucket. VIMEO is also another very good website to upload videos to.
After all is said and done, your final edited and exported video will be easier for youtube to upload and process. My video camera takes very large video files. A 5 minute clip might be about 8gb of raw video, and that's simply just too huge. After editing and processing, it will be less than 200mb, which is MUCH easier to play than an 8gb clip.
It's really not as daunting as it seems. Most old school guys are afraid to use the tools that are here to help make life easier. Some of the older guys at my dads work won't even touch Microsoft power point (which is a very easy program to use), because it's just too intimidating for them. The BEST thing to do is dive in head first.
