To make a really long story short, i need to find a video security system of some kind. It has to be good enough to be able to bet a positive I.D. in the dark from 50-100 feet away, assuming they look in the direction of the cameras. a 3-4 camera system would be best. Also, the ability to read a license plate in the dark would be a must.

I need some suggestions? The ability to extend the cameras to any length of cable would be really nice as well. And obviously weatherproof for outdoor use.

Basically this clown that my buddy is having problems with has already showed up at our shop raising hell, then proceeded to tell the police that if they dont do something about it, that he will personally.... The guy is a moron, obviously.
SO, assuming his dumb arse comes back out there, we can get him on tape messing with stuff and get him sent away for a long time...

I have a ( 200+ ft ) long range ( day & night ) cmos camera, but not sure how it would do at night for reading a plate. They say the best camera's are cctv style. Your best bet would be to ask this question on a good security camera web site.

This. The best ones are going to have IR as well, so as to provide a well lit night time view. If you wanted to, you could install an IR security light as well, that puts out nothing but IR light, so the intruders cannot see you, but you can see them clear as day.
