does it hurt anything if you don't have boots on your forks? Ive seen some pics with no boots and i like the looks.

Helps keep rocks from damaging the chrome finish and leaking seals and keeps most of the dirt and water from getting through the dust and oil seals also. I wouldn't eve want to run with a ripped boot.
