Anybody out there ever put any bigger engine in a fat cat besides a missle conversion? Looking to put a bigger 4 stroke in mine and thought I would see what has been done before I start digging in research. Thanks

last on i seen was thight with a 200 in it going to have to do some mods to the frame to go with larger engine.but a crf230 would almost be a direct bolt in like in a 200x with very few mods i think

The best bet is to use the standard hod-rod techniques on a Honda 200. High compression piston, a little bit of head work, etc. The addition of HP from a new engine will only serve to overwhelm the pathetic suspensions that these bikes were equipped from the factories with. Eventually, you can spend enough trying to upgrade the fat-tired bikes to where you could have had something truly useful.

However, it is a truly fun endeavor and you can't spend enough to balance how much fun you are having. Screw the naysayers.

I agree 100% on the terrible suspension. Probably right about the upgrades on the 200 engine is about the best that I can do with what i have. I may just keep her stock and look for a missle to play on.
