I'm thinking about putting an fcr carb off a 07 450r on my 350x. Is there anything I'm going to have to do other than the jets? And for anybody that has done this before are you happy with the results?

U really would need to have some major work done to your motor to have this work. Like big bore, cam, exhaust, and intake changes, maybe even stroked. That carb would be really dumping the fuel in, it is a 40mm flat slide with an accelerator pump. Also I think u would have major figment issues. The FCR Carbs for the 450R are huge. Have u seen one in person yet, of the motor? They really r giant.

Also I have an extra one if u need. They aren't very cheap though.

Boil the intake boot and put on carb then bolt to head. Have to slide the air box up and remount. All of the forums I read it didn't sound too hard and well worth the effort. Have one sitting in the shop. It is a little big but my girl has always told me size doesn't matter. I guess if it doesnt work I'll have a nice paperweight.

I have an FCR carb on my 350x now, but I haven't run it yet. I will more than likely switch it out for a 400ex carb and the FCR carb to a "project" that I have going on. I have a custom aluminum intake manifold that uses a piece of neoprene turbo intake line, or whatever product it is to mount the carb. It's all a little tight in there. LOL I also have modded the trx450r light switch mount assembly to the 350x wiring pattern so I could use the original hot start switch lever and have a remote choke mounted on my handlebar mount. The FCR carb should be perfect for my "project" but is too big for my mostly stock engine.

It's too big unless you have some motor work and intake/exhaust mods. Very nice carb for the whole range of throttle though.........

Big valves, cam, and exhaust should be enough for the carb. They are nice, but I'd suggest looking for a 34-36mm TM Mikuni carb if your stock still. The TM is a 4 stroke carb and the TMX is a 2 stroke. Do not mix them up!
