Ever see this happen before?

This is a pic of the swingarm on my black blaster. I think this happened from bicycling the machine and uneven landings.I noticed it a few months ago and still ride on it almost daily.
And also a pic of my other 2000 blaster(stock)

Ive got one of those on my TriZ. I figured it was there to let the water drain out!

I thought about cutting a steel plate to cover that part of the swingarm and have it welded on.My welding skills arent the greatest. I have another swingarm ready to go on when I give the machine a makeover soon.
TimSr-The way you ride your tri-z I cant imagine why it would be cracked there :)

hey tri-z jim good way to fix that up real quick for ya is just to slap so good ol duk tape on there and keep on givin er hell. spoken from a true user of the duk tape

The welded plate idea will work, provided you can penetrate into the metal enough to make the weld worth a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro. I would do that, then when the current arm gets more bad off swap in the new one.

I've seen quite a few blasters do that. Must be a problem spot for them :? But i dont care I am still gonna own a blaster one of these years!

the best way to fix that crack
1) grind directly into the crack in each direction...just a little bit less than 1/8 of an inch
2) grind your welds smooth,and paint over it with a good rust inhibitor........if you can weld at all that should be enough to hold up for a good while...however if you want more strength add a plate over that ......good luck

he's got the solution right there.thats the best way to fix a crack like that.grind into it with a dremel tool and weld over it,and grind the welds smooth....if you want,doesnt matter.But having done that before,thats the way to go.cheers to md1985
