Somewhere I started a post about this but its been awhile and I couldnt find it......
Got it for like 40 bucks with all plastics and tank missing. Never knew what I really had until I got it home. Nice build for my son...
Took me over two years to finish, the biggest purchases being rear fenders and recoil. Painted the frame, new brakes, top end and new chinese stock carb. The front fender was a battle- the surface was crusty and sun burnt real bad. I scraped it all off with a razor, wet sanded, then clear coated it. (in short) The tank got sunbeam yelllow via krylon fusion rattle can. Wet sanded then clear coated. Should have coated the inside of the tank, but thats for another day. New tires and tubes, and the rims got rattle canned hammered metal krylon fusion finish. Then of course cleaned everything up and did the typical mods like got rid of pre-mix and taking out washer in exhaust etc. etc.

Runs OK, everyonce in awhile it seems to starve and run out fuel. Choke it once, it starts up and goes until it repeats. Also noticed the head neck stearing bearing were going so I have to address that too sometime.....

I was a little leary putting my 2.5 year old son on it, but its so slow because the gearing. Hes tipped it over a couple times. He gets right back on. Definitly harmless compared to the PW50 with training wheels even being goverened down as far as i can.

He loves it. Enough where he dont want no other kids on it!

Very nice work. I love the expression on his face. As for the fuel starving issue, could it be rust inside the tank momentarily restricting the flow? You did mention you wanted to coat the tank.

Do you have your vacuum line hooked up? You can also try running it in the "Prime" position on the petcock.
