hey there i'm new to 3ww! i just bought my first 3 wheeler today, a 1984 honda big red 200es for 400 dollars. it has lots of little odds and ends that need repair but motor starts first pull every time, runs strong, and tranny shifts like a champ. i plan on restoring this classic but i have a few questions to get started.

how do i seafoam my big red? i'd like to clean the engine out as much as possible
how do i tell if the gas is bad and gummed up? i have no idea how long the bike sat before i bought it
the fuel tank has a small leak on the side, some previous owner sealed it up with seal-all. how do i pull the gas tank to fix this?

I wouldn't run that gas.Not worth taking the chance imo

too late. rode the bike a little to test it. seemed fine but how can i tell if the gas tank needs cleaning?

if it has sat for more than a year it needs to be cleaned out. metal tanks don't like stale gas sitting in them.

i guess it doesn't really matter considering there's a hole in the side of the tank and it'll need to be patched anyway. how difficult is it to get the gas tank off

thank you! i've cleaned the carb and filled the tank with fresh fuel and it runs great. i'm learning quickly how easy and fun these bikes are to work on

Glad to hear you like trikes! They are a blast! And BTW, Seal-All is fuel resistant so you might be pretty good just to let it be, unless you're looking to make a show queen! JMO lol
