350x with a 400ex motor

Hey guys, I have a chance to buy a 1985 350x with a 1999 400ex motor already installed in it. the guy said the motor smokes when it is warming up, then it stops, it shifts good thru all the gears and the clutch doesn't slip. the rear fender has a crack in it, but it has been repaired. The seat is also ripped. would $700 be a fair price for this trike?

Without seeing it,YES! If it's an average looking machine,it HAS to be worth that!

That would be a great rider, electric start, reverse, 50 more cc's and so many more performance parts still in production. If the swap is good, I'd be all over it. In my mind I would prefer the 400ex trike setup to the 450R conversions. I've rode a couple or 400ex's and if it weren't for that awkward extra front tire, they'd be awesome.

this again huh? you may be able to sell the 400ex motor and grab a 350x and have a nice ride for a little of nothing
