-good project or parts bike
-air cooled
-motor is in pieces
-frame in good shape
-only thing missing is a stator
-i was rebuilding it but got bored of it

Replyed with this:

$50, if not now than in a couple of weeks if you can't sell it? i plan on fixing it up to use it to learn on. do you have a ownership for it or not?
got this Reply:

i would rather sell it to the scrap yard then to sell it for 50 bucks
Replyed back with this:

Well what is the Lowest you would Accept than And Did you already get a Quote to see what Scrapyards would give for it because Scrappers may not give $50 for a old dirt bike that the engine is in pieces?
Thoughts?

Sounds to me like you low balled the guy so bad you hurt his feelings and you now have a snowballs chance in hell of buying it... there's a difference between getting a good deal and putting it to someone, especially when you do it via email without even seeing it first.... just my honest opinion... FYI that's not an 84 looks a lot more like an 81...

Yeah looks like an 81 to me, I thought the 84's had disk brakes?

Got a reply back:

i wont go any lower then 200 i have seen ones in worst shape sell for more
Engine needs to be assembled plus it needs a stator. what would it cost for a stator and how long would it take to assemble the engine? i would guess $50-100 for the Stator i guess and a couple hours of my time or $100-200+ to get someone to assemble it correctly and install the engine so i'm not sure what one with no ownership and may need more than a Stator is worth so with the time and possibility of some funds i don't have right away i figured $50 would be a fair price, maybe $75 Max.

Good luck, but the post vintage MX boys will eventually snag it for close to his asking price

Yeah man, I agree with Huffie, that offer would have offended me for sure.

I can spot atleast his price by eye, fifty bucks is just a stupid offer, but what can you expect the result to be?
