My buddy has and old AMF Aermacchi thats in Semi-rough shape. been sitting since the 80's. I'm trying to get him to sell it to me, but he says he might want to restore it. But he cant find parts. Is it something worth buying if i can get it for cheap. I have never seen one, but i sure would love to ride. I think its 2-stroke, and its kick start. I Hate harleys though :D

It is a two stroke and parts aren't impossible, but if you have a Harley complex why not let someone that will appreciate it rebuild it? They were as much part of the history of the dirt bike boom of the late 60's and 70's as trikes were the 80's...

They're really cool. Rather ride on of those than a Honda trail bike. My ex-brother in law used to race the Harley dirt bikes in flat track in the 70's (later switched to Suzuki & Yamaha's) and they had those as a pit bike. Don't matter what brand built those bikes, there cool.

the Aero's were all italian then, there is a website for parts pertaining to these machines, the x50's, x-65's x-90's and the "shortsters". I used to own the M65 Shortster. Fully road legal machine. Paid 50.00 for it in the late 80's from a garage sale, sold it a few years ago restored for almost 3500.00 fully restored back to dealership condition. I will see if I can find the website for you.

PS, if you can score a wore out missing pieces x90 for less than 750.00 don't even blink, they are EXTREMELY valuable to collectors and Harley guys alike.

My girlfriend bought an X90 in '80 for 75.00. Man, what a cool little bike it was, fully street legal & real peppy for a 90cc mini.
It looked a little like this one..........
