I have a klt250 trike that will only pump the fuel so far, any ideas? if i remember the original pump was trashed so we replaced it with a pump from an fl350 odyssey which seemed to have the same fuel pump set up. Can we just replace this pump with an electric pump? thanks guys

You can replace it with an electric one. I believe all you half to do it block off the pulse line(?) the line that the air goes through to pump the pump. I did that with my snowmobile and it seems to work just fine for me. I just stuffed a bolt into the line and electrical taped it sealed since i was in a hurry. lol

Sometime every once in a great while, my klt200 pumps give me trouble. I usualy just tap on the top of it with a screw driver and it starts clicking away. They are easy to tear down and clean out. Very basic. Try that first. When you tear it down, clean up all the electrical contacts.

We've been working on this trike for awhile now, and when we first got it, it was very very clean, nuke em actually bought it but me and a few of his sons friends have been working on it in his abscence. We can get it to fire up if you put gas in through the airfilter side of the carb but you have hold your hand over it and keep it choked for it to run, and after awhile start tapping it to let it get some air. I actually did start cleaning alot of the electrical contacts already, we were having issues with the wiring but we resolved those issues. THanks guys

Sounds like you need to pull the carb. The pump wont pump if there is restrictions in the line, or carb is full of fuel. And it sounds like your pilot jet is plugged up.

Does this trike alreaddy have an electric one or does it have one of the pulse pumps that use preassure from the crankcase to pump?

The klt200 pumps suck. Mine randomly quits out on me and i gotta tap it with a hammer.

Only time i have to tap mine is when it gets dry and has been sitting for a few weeks. Other than that, it keeps on going.
That pump does look like a nice option though!

Mine for some reason the points i guess you could call them get stuck and heat up the top of the pump to the point that the plastic cap up top is like really soft rubber. My dads torn it apart 2 times and still wont let me buy a new pump for it. He keeps saying that it just needs adjusted a little more.
