I bought parts for my 83R and i just ut them on today and while putting them on i tripped over my plastics and i broke them so by this point im mad, swearing, throwing tools everywere. When im done putting my parts on(clutch cable, throttle cable, chain 'n sprockets)i go for a test drive, i do a jump and then i hear metal scraping and and clunking so i stop and i cant see anything wrong so ride some more and i hear the same noise so i get off again and nothing wrong so i turn to go back to my house and my chain falls off! i put it back on and then i realize that my axle is moving inside my swingarm, this has happended to me before so i know right away-rear bearings are shot-so by this point im thinking of just leaving there and going back cuz im so mad, i just ordered parts and now i have to order more parts and to add on to that i need new rear brake pads and my carb is pouring out gas. so i guess im busy for the rest of the week.

I've been through some issues with a 250r recently too. The truth is that when you get them fixed it will be that much more fun to ride. It's always worth it in the long run.

Been there, went through 4 motors on my 83 including 3 big bore 300 kits. I loved my 83R but it kept biting me lol

It sucks but it comes with the territory. I just got my 79 110 up and running for the first time the other night. New top end from shortline. I took it for a spin around the yard and hit a low spot with the right rear wheel. Well it also needs new rear bearings so the chain broke. Luckily it didn't break the case. Now I have to replace rear bearings and get a new chain even though the last one was still in good shape.

Kind of like getting my Tri-Zinger DG exhaust in the mail this morning, running out to the garage gleefully to mount it up and promptly snapping a bolt off in the head.. Yeah, I know what you mean.

Actually I wouldn't mind having a Vespa. But the Vespa I want is older than my 3 wheelers. 1979 P200E

Sorry you are having all kinds of issues with the bearrings.. When I put mine together, I didn't even mess around with it, I just bought a new carrier, with double rows of new bearrings already installed.. It's been really reliable now for the past 2+ years... Oh yea, It's made by Lonestar...

About 3 weeks ago I decided to change the timing belt in my Acura Integra. Thing runs fantastic, this was just normal maintenance. To change the water pump the cam sprockets must be removed. So putting it back together, I was getting my torque specs from a pdf version of the factory service manual. It's huge and the pdf reader on my machine just pukes, so I had a really hard time navigating. Anyway, I was using the specs for a vtech engine on my non-vtech engine. So... I snapped a bolt off in the exhaust camshaft when putting the exhaust cam sprocket back on........ I thought I was going to puke lol. Anywho, today my parts came in. I got it to crank up with the new oem waterpump, timing belt, idler pulley and exhuast cam... Sounds great :) I bought the hard copy of the factory service manual. Much easier to navigate..
