I installed a new Lonstar axle and a few billet parts. The only thing I hate is now that I've started I see all kinds of things that need to be improved so I plan on a frame up rebuild this winter.

very nice. One thing about my 83 that bugged the hell out of me was the mis-matched wheels. A nice douglas red label will cost you $72.50, and well worth it. I found a great dealer on the net, somewhere in AZ, I cant remember who, but email is pig@uswest.net I got the blue label rears for $28, I thought that was a good price.

Yea thats just one thing that bothers me right now. I do have a 350X front but they dont shine like aftermarket polished wheels so I figured I would just wait untill I find a Douglas wheel. The other thing that bothers me is the wear on the frame were my shoes or boots rub the frame so I plan on having the frame powder coated this winter and then I think I mite be satisfied LOL.

Thats not a crack, thou I do see how it some what looks like it in pic. And I think that our weather is worse here if I'm not mistaken but have had no problems at all and we had a few 100+ weather this summer with 90% humidity and 80 plus dew point. Our heat is not dry its very muggy here and thats what makes it feel much hotter, been to Vegas and AZ. and the heat is much easyer on you because its dry. If you have ever been in Houston or Northern LA. out you know what im talking about.

Do you have a dial a jet on your carb? I see an extra hose going to intake side. Looks nice.

i know exacty what you mean about the wear spots on the frame from your boots. After I had my 250R frame powdercoated the first thing that I did was apply clear 3M tape to my frame. Not regular tape, but 3M makes a real thick clear tape that is for abrasion. I cut strips and put it on the left side of the frame exactly where yours and every other bike wears. About every 6 months I peel the tape and replace it. I knew I would make me sick to see my new frame with those wear spots.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isnt that a Thunder Products Incorporated dial a jet system? If so some feedback on how well it actually preforms would be great, I have heard that they are worth thier weight in gold. I would love to get one for my tri-z.

Where did you buy your radiator guards? and how much were they? I have been looking for a set for over a year and I cant find them.
Thanks,
Chris

Yes! The dial-a-jet is worth every penny, I had great throttle response before I installed the system now it's even better, I could actually feel the difference in acceleration.

I'm not sure what I paid for them I think it was somewhere around $60.00. I bought them on of Ebay a few months back he said he only had 5 sets to sell.

Looks much better than 350X, Its been a long time but I did the same thing too some clear coated truck rims, Major, Major pain in the arse  But from the looks of yours it looks like it may be worth it and I can save a few penny's in the prosses.
