I was coming around a smooth curved corner on a dirt road on my 200S, was probably doing about 30-35mph, and was doing a little bit of drifting, nothing very ballsy. Well, a friend of mine came screaming around the corner on a little go cart drifting, he lost it and started spinning full speed towards me.
I have to hit the throttle and take the culvert to keep from hitting him, the trike goes sideways, flips in the air once, and lands on my left foot full force/speed, before coming up onto my side, and sliding down the road with me under it.
Stupid me, I crawl out from under it, flip it back over and check it for damage, before I realize that I have zero feeling in my left foot, and I can't move it at all. Of course I'm wearing black leather issue boots, and thats the only thing that saved me, but about 5 minutes later, my foot is so swollen I can't get the boot off, it'd have to be cut, so I cut my boot off(sad, sad day, I babied these boots), and my foot was dark purple and swollen about the size of a nerf football. So I start the trike back up, and hand shift until I get home.
I don't think anything is broken, and those high top boots probably saved me from a badly broke ankle, and my helmet is the only reason I still have my face intact.
I can't walk, I can't even stand up. I feel miserable and today really shook me up. I know it wasn't the trikes fault but damnit if I'm not going to get out of 3rd gear for a while.

Remember, it doesn't matter how many wheels you have under you... its not IF, its WHEN. Glad you had your helmet on, now suck it up, wrap up that ankle and get back to riding:D
Seriously, it wont take long, my kid broke his foot in three places early this spring, the day he got his cast off he was back on the MX track, granted the older you get the longer it takes...

Well I'd definantly say I crashed with some flair all right. I deserve an Emmy for this incident.

What's really sucking is that I can't let my grandmother in on it, my grandad knows because he was in the process of building an ALT185 when I came in, so I'm to the point of nearly throwing up having to walk normally around her.

it was either hit a steep culvert and possibly a barbed wire fence, or completely run over and mangle a good friend of mine. This gocart has no rollcage, and with him it it is barely above my tires.

ouch!! First three wheeler i ever flipped was in a similar situation, Im a nice guy and back when i was younger we didnt have goggles or gear, hell barley a helmet. One day jsut cruising on a trail on my dads friends 200s that is 100% original his wife got him in 84, I had my helmet on luckly me and my friend were riding on a trail and I was blowing dust in her face so i got off the main trail and about 40ft or so after getn off the trail a massive pot hole appeared. I just gritted my teeth and held the brakes down but it did no good :( I barel rolled twice and my face hit the gun rack on the bars and the side of my head slammed on the ground. Got up trike was okay slightly bent gun rack and my helmet had about a 2cm deep scratch all the way down the side of it((imagine that on the side of your noggin at 12 yrs old?? or no matter how old you are!!!)) lol it didnt hurt but i was crying my ass off cause i was scarred my dad was going to beat me!!

Hi Zwack. I am FAR from a computer guru,,but what you did here is called hijacking,,I believe, What you should have done is start your OWN thread to ask YOUR question! Worse yet,,our boy here coulda been killed, and u wanna know what this machine is worth!!!!! If it runs ,it's gotta be worth $around $200,more if she's nice. Welcome to 3ww,now go read the rules and good luck!

It could have been a LOT worse, that was a really, really hard wreck, and I come out with a few scratches and a hurt foot. Thinking back, I could have broke ribs, legs, and arms, not to mention wrists and ankles. Really makes you think.....
The swelling stopped atleast, and my foot is no longer purple. Still sore as hell, and I'll still be down for a day or two, but atleast it's not broken.

It shall be your first of many hard spills, at 40 I've learned that even though it tends to hurt a little more and a little longer, I have to complain less and less or the evil suggestion of "isn't it about time you start thinking about giving up motocross" comes up, just remember it might hurt when you crash, but I've been to a 20'th high school reunion and if you compare a little pain now and then to the adverse effects of sitting on a "safe" couch for 20 years, I'll gladly take the pain... Your young still, dont sweat it you will heal up as good as new in short order...

On topic, Glad you're ok. worst wreck was one time i ran in to a tree trying to keep up to my Older brother on our Big Reds or i was on a big red and he was on a 200M. Snapped the Steering stem, Roughly $100 Later though it was up and going again...for a bit.

I've experienced rolling and wrecking these things for almost 30 years (usually due to stupidity and/or taking dares) but I'm still kickin' just like my Honda's although we're a little worse for the wear but still gettin' it done! I remember when I was probably no more than a 3rd or 4th grader one winter day on our ATC90 trying to top by bro's 2 high speed donuts on compacted snow on our gravel driveway going as fast as I could, spinning a cookie or two and having a tire grab sideways, tossing me clear, sliding across the gravel and watching it doing barrel rolls for about 30 feet, busting up the headlight, fender and handlebars. Didn't want my mom to find out so we pushed it in the barn until we got it fixed up enough to trade in for an 82 110! Mom's (or grandparents) never want to hear about things like this that happen to you and it makes them worry about you even more but a guy's gotta have fun some fun too! Try to take it easy and get well soon Chazz!
Oh yeah, don't forget to thank your your buddy and kick him in the junk! And if someone here knows booblinker, please kick him extra-hard square in the nads too!

Ouch!!! Maybe your signature is bad luck *-*-*-*-*The only way I'll ever leave my wheels is if you pry my cold, dead, boot off the pegs!*-*-*-*-* I remember the first time I crashed I was 10 and riding the 110 in the woods I forgot what gear I was in and took a bad turn it was banked in the oppsite direction and I ran into the tree at the bottom the handle bar grabbed it and I flipped it. I was so worried about the trike I forgot to check myself for injuries lucklily I came a away with a couple of bloody cutting from the tree and a bruised arm.

Well it looks like I wasn't the only one to have an "incident" this weekend. Sorry to hear about your crash Chazz and I hope you heal fast. I ended up a little bit worse in the injury department. Went over a little jump and things didn't quite work out like I planned. Wasn't going very fast, but the landing went south and I ended up with a broken thumb, 1 cracked rib, a couple of bruised ribs, a nice patch of gravel pit induced dermabrasion on my shoulder, and knocked the wind outta me. Like you my boot saved my ankle, but I didn't get the swelling you got. First tumble I've taken in about 6-7 years, I usually take it pretty easy when I ride. Wife unit said she thought I was gonna save it. I had forgotten how much it sucks to have messed up ribs, it's been about 30 years since I had any rib damage. Brings a whole new meaning to "It only hurts when I laugh"!
Wheeler came out unscathed (of course)
Just goes to show you don't have to be high speeding to get some decent injuries.

I think you should go get checked out Chazz. I have a "tuff" buddy who has broken quite a few things, and never went to the DR. Or dentist,,he's 42 now,,and it doesn't look fun to me! It's not the ankle or any joint though, it's right in the middle of the foot. I'm going to give it another day to see if it's just a horrendous bruise, busted vessel, or something other than bone.
I got out and tried to ride the 250es through the yard, rode it for about 10 minutes almost crying the whole time. But damnit if I want to ride, injuries be damned!
