Well my engine for my 200x is crap as some of you know a bunch of teeth are missing from the clutch basket gear and the coil is all cut up. It got worse I tore the top end apart and the cam lobes are wore down a lot the the end of it was turning blueish purple and when I took the timeing chain off the cam didn't spin easily but I think I'll keep the jug as a buck up it still looks really good nice cross hatches and isn't wore out unevenly but the rest of the engine is trash. So the last couple of days I have been completely tearing the trike apart as I plan on repainting it cause it was the first Nice looking atc I bought(I bought previous ones with broken fenders or no brakes and other stuff) It was a breeze taking it apart until I got to the stupid swingarm bolt that attaches it to the frame it was really pissing me off. At first I gave it a tap with a 2x4 and hammer but lost patience quick and it got uglyHoosier Daddy:mad:. 1 hour later and a lot of anger I ended up cutting it but the guy I am buying another motor from has some of these bolts he will throw in with the engine.
So I'm going to paint it and I was trying think what colors to do if anyone wants to suggest some colors that would be cool. I will post some picks when done and show a before and after and if anyones interested I can post picks of the old engine and the damage done.

For the motor? You could always paint the engine black with chrome side covers (maybe even valve cover?). Or you could get the whole think chromed lol. Nah, but you could always do the chrome powder coat. This stuff looks promising with some clear coat:

You could do the engine this, and then powder coat the side covers blue. I've always like the 200x and 250r's that were blue/white themed.

Pics would be great, might learn a few things. I have a 200s and the engine is pretty much the same I think.

I'm restoring an x right now. Just got a 200 auto engine for it. From what I can remember when a buddy of mine had one years ago, the thing was brutal to start and a general PITA. The 200 auto cures all the engine woes and still gives you a fully suspended bike! Probably loses a bit of power though...

In one pic it shows the screw in a part of the teeth(can't find the rest in garage some where) in another pic it shows where the screw came from looks like it came loose and was ripped out. In another pic you can see the gear on the clutch basket with missing teeth. One of the pics shows the metal shavings in the cylinder head were the cam would be and the other pic shows the cam(the wear on the lobes some heavy scratchs by the cam sprocket and you can some what see the blueshih color on the end. Overall its pretty bad.
Yeah chrome would be cool but I don't think I could afford it and I too likemthe white and blue 200x's. I like the white gas tank so I think I'll refresh the paint on that.

Wondering if this Chrome would handle the engine heat? I like it, looks like they did a intake with it???

Finding those replacement parts shouldn't be too bad. Although buying a used running 200x engine might be cheaper. I remember seeing a guy on ebay that had like 17 running trike motors... Think he had a couple 200x. Just a thought.
Keep posting pics as you get stuff done :).

Yeah it looks like it. I'll probably call them and ask them if it will handle motor heat. I think it will though. Although I'm just painting the motor on mine black. Only powder coating the pull start/clutch cover and valve cover.

Well I got the frame and swing arm all cleaned off now for the paint would it look cool to paint the swing arm the same color as the frame or would it look better to make it a different color(this will help me decide what color to do the frame).
