Ok so after i changed the clutch on my bike not that long ago i had opened the wrong side of the engine and i put it back together w/o touching anything. so now when i shift gears the shifter stays stuck up or down once i move it the shifter will go back to normal, Im hoping its something easy like the gear shift linkage, If anyone knows what it could be Please post it here so i can fix it before something bad happens to it.

Pop the left case off... #21 is prone to breaking on these trannys

hey thorpe thanks alot for the help, I opened up the motor yesterday and come to find out that the little part #21 wasnt there to begin with which left me wondering where did it go lol, But i took it off of one of my other 250 engines and put it on and it shifts like never before shifts so smooth and i dont really have to shift so high up to get it to catch, but TONS of thanks man you saved my life there hehe.

That's good news for me aswell. I'm having the same problems but never popped the case to see what it was all about.
