I just picked up a 1979 110. (for $75)..I need to clean the carb since it bogs out at WOT (it had rust in the old tank)...How can I remove the carb? :wondering The bolts that mount the carb manifold to the head look cooked solid...and the other 2 nuts on the other end of the manifold that connect to the carb seem impossible to reach??? (well one seems tough to get at) Whats the trick to getting the carb off the manifold? I need this carb cleaned asap!

THANKS!

Remove it at the head first leaving the manifold attached to the carb . Not sure what you mean by the bolts look cooked ?

I knew that was the way! but was looking for another option since the bolts looked bonded to the chamber...but it looks like I just need to find a way to remove them..

The bolts from the carb gas chamber to the head looked coroded to the chamber...I did not even attempt to remove them, yet...Is there a trick to getting them out? Should I try heat? Or spray them? Anyone have any trouble with these 2 bolts? I will be removing them today but would like a backup plan to remove them, if they do not want to back out easy...

THANKS!!!

Ill make a thread of the new 110....

Mine came out real easy with a 10 mm wrench. They looked bad, but werent to hard to come off. it was mostly dirt and oil mix that was on my bolts that made them look bad.

I just pulled them out on a 1970 US90 with no issue... Looked they had never been touched in 41 years...

Yeah, I take mine off at the manifold (manifold stays on the head) with a 10mm. It's a bit tricky and you don't get much leverage or room to turn the wrench but they should come out. If they are rusted spray them down and let em soak for a while.
