alright everyone, im hoping you can help me out, i offered to fix up this 1973 atc 70 for my uncle, and it has a 1987 200x ignition coil on there, is this too hot to run for the little atc or will it run just fine with it on there? i havent checked for spark cause i still have a little wiring to get right, and even if it did have spark i wouldnt know whether or not to run it with this ignition

So an ignition coil for 6v would work on this then? if i were to get a universal 6v/12v coil would it work? I went to my local dealer and they basically told me for this year and model bike its practically taboo to carry any parts for it and 90% of them are discontinued and unavailable, my local yamaha dealer had a universal coil he said was 6v/12v setup and should work for this (i took it to the dealer) just looking for second opinions as i believe i have the parts i need, but if i put em on i cant return em! so will this universal coil work?

DRATV still sells the original OEM coil for a atc70 . Its prob off of a z50 or somthing close but they work just fine . I had no luck with the universal coils on the 70 models .
Here is a link for a new coil from dratv .
