Right now I have 18 inch tires on my 250r I like the they look now I know the bigger the tire you get more top speed. What would be the the gain in mph from 18 inch tires to 20's or maybe even 22 inch tires???

I wouldnt get 22s on it but from 18 to 20 u would prolly gain 5mph. your gearing also has a role in top speed and acceleration.

Think sprocket change also..accomplish the same thing without having to go to a bigger tire that may increase your tire roll and effect your handling.
How fast you want to go on that thing anyway?? I still haven't gotten close to the top speed on mine..chickened out around 55-60ish I think. I can wait to go faster when I have more hours in the saddle..still pretty new to me.
God I hope you aren't one of those 'defend my right to not wear a helmet' guys!!! You aren't friends with..oh what his name?...'triketrash' or something like that!!
If the 250r isn't giving you enough adrenaline high and you need more speed..at least say you are riding smart!!
I don't feel like reading another news article about someone else in the brotherhood meeting his maker...

I say 20 inch tires r perfect for all around purpose. They give u more ground clearance then the 18's and a little more top speed. I think 22's r too much for a sport machine. They make it tall and more tippy from raising the center of gravity. And in my opinion they don't look as good. But with the 18's u gain a lot of low end. U accelerate faster and so it feels like it has more power/torque and pull. Again this is just my thought for sport bikes. Bigger tires have their purpose too.

I agree with Tattool..to each his own. Mine has 18 and I wouldn't change them, but I don't trail with this machine much so I don't care about the clearance. Wouldn't even think about the 22" EEEEEWWWWW!!
So either 20" or different sprockets..or both.
Still think you have serious thrill issues dude!!
Have fun, but be safe!!
