86 250r parts swap to 85 frame?

So my 86 frame isn't in the best condition and i just found a 85 frame, can i swap out all the 86 parts onto the 85 frame?? Any problems i might run into??

everything except the swingarm and carrier you'll need a 85 for that

Yes, everything should swap over just fine, even your '86 swingarm. For your taillight, the mounting tabs are removable on the 86's, but they are welded on the 85's, so you might have an issue there, or it might be as simple as popping the rubber grommets out of the '86 mounting tabs, and slipping into the '85 mounting tabs.

I was under the impression that the swinger would swap like red rider said???

The swingarm will bolt up just fine, its just the carriers and brake linkage assemblies that cant be interchanged. For instance 85 carrier wont work on a 86 swinger and visa versa. You should have no problems bolting up all yor 86 parts on that 85 frame
