I've been searching and reading on here all mourning and now I think im really confused:wondering My 225dx runs pretty good but im trying to fine tune it to perfection. Bike is all stock even the filter, I have recently adjusted my valves and I have cleaned the carb and tryed adjusting it but cant get it to where I want it to run. I want to get it to were its idling you can suddenly open the throttle and it will rev instantly. The way it is now if you kind of feather the throttle alittle right before you open it up it revs quick with out a sputter, but if you open it up from a idle it hisses a split second then revs up . I've noticed if I turn the idle up it revs good in neutral but is too high when you put it in gear. My plug is a nice brown color. What should I check to get it running at 100% Sorry to ramble on but im a particular guy on maintenance and performance. Any ideas??

where is the idle mix screw set at?, mine is a lil rich but I have no sputter, also are you using a stock wet filter or dry filter? I think you might even be able to play with cable adjustment some that will allow it to have that little bit of feathering right before it cracks WOT. There was somewhere I saw how much play was supposed to be on the cable and throttle. On another thought what type of fuel are you running I know we talk alot about the ethanol, but I know some places don't have to tell if it is in the gas or not so you might want to check on that too.
