Took it out to replace the tensioner, chain and guide and it doesn't seem to be working right now. I've only had acouple of these engines apart before, everything else I work on is pushrod. Anyways, Its in this position right now, and if I loosen the 14mm adjusting nut, it snaps all the way up and the spring loaded arm isn't doing anything. But If I tighten the 14mm nut, isn't it supposed to move the little pin there thus moving the arm? Mine just gets tight and seems to jam up the pin. I can loosen the nut, pull the little pin down and tighten it back up and it'll stay, but I won't be able to do that with everything back together. Maybe this is how its supposed to be? Not sure but before I put the top end back together I'd like to get it right. Thanks.

The tensioner is an auto type, here's an extract from the 200es manual.

Hope it helps.

Cool. So I should probably just leave it there until I get it running....I keep forgetting I have that manual saved on my computer. The clymer manual is almost useless really.

It's in the Clymer manual also, pages 50-51.

Yeah leave it loose so you can get the chain on the cam when you button up the top end. Get it running and then loosen the bolt to adjust it
