Starting Tri-z 250 [Archive]

Has anyone had a problem starting there Yamaha Tri-Z with the lights switched to on? I have trouble starting it when they are on but when I turn the lights to off it will start. Is there a poss problem?

might be grounding the system through the light circuit

Oh and it runs fine after I start it and turn the lights back on.
